Somehow, I knew this place would be my kind of spot. When I walked into the space, I was immediately greeted by the showrunner, PersyNotes, and Ibrahim, who were dope enough to put the event together. As I moved across the room, making my way to the brown, wooden, grand piano conveniently placed towards the back, I met a lot of wonderful people, all hoping to hear some truly unique music.
Seeing the fellowship of fellow producers in our field is always a pleasure, especially when they are performers as well. Most of us know each other from other open mics and some saw an opportunity to showcase their work while promoting a dope idea. As the show continued, we all bonded over each other's tastes and styles.
I was sent the Bibi Mamale song and demo sample pack the day before and immediately vibed to the rhythmic drum loops and high-energy vocal loops. So much so, I was able to make 3 beats immediately using them. I showcased these beats and they were met with love and valuable insight I can use for future songs I create. It’s always great to get a unbiased perspective from other experts in your industry.
Watching the other artists different interpretations of the music from the sample pack is the reason why we do what we do. It gives us time to appreciate the same song at the same time in order to make a crazy cool project, show, or a concert at the end. The worldly artists that we sample offer unique sounds to play with in our digital playgrounds. That’s what it's all about, International Audio Harmony, and it starts with all of us. Giving each other the energy and motivation to chase our dreams and pursue our goals. I appreciate them for the space and opportunity.
